This might just be the perfect miter saw, packed with everything you ever wished for and then some. Of course, a saw's nothing if it's not accurate, but the Bosch 4410 is dead-on right from the box. Of all its great features, our favorite by far is the four-position handle. Like a vertical grip? You've got it. Horizontal? That too. In a stroke of engineering genius, Bosch designed the handle to convert easily to the grip that suits you best, a feature so desirable that we bet it will start appearing on other brands. Our usual complaint about miter saws is that the fence is too low, and Bosch has addressed that with nice 4-1/2 inch tall Speed Track sliding fences, making any bevel setup and crown molding cut a cinch. Yet another change we appreciated was the relocation of the bevel lever and adjustment knob right up in front where you need it. Speaking of bevels, you've got a complete range on both left and right, at 47 and 46 degrees respectively. The miter detent system is super accurate, but sometimes the rest of the world isn't perfect and a 45-degree miter might not be what you need. No problem. Override the detent and sneak up on the cut with the superb micro-fine adjustment, even on a long workpiece, thanks to the sliding base extensions and handy tool-free clamping levers. It always irritates us when we can't read the numbers on a tool, and even that complaint is taken care of with the easy-to-see scale for both the bevels and miters. Last but far from least, this saw is powered by a 3 hp max, 15-amp motor that runs the blade through oak like butter. Even the included blade is high quality and leaves a flawless cut line. A beautiful machine.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
From the Manufacturer

By Elton Dodson
First, I purchased this saw as a woodworking tool, rather than a carpentry or jobsite tool, so keep that in mind.
This is a big saw. I intend to mount it permanently in my shop, so that is not an issue. But if you need mobility, the weight and girth would be problematic. That is the only negative thing I have to say at this point about this saw.
Cut Quality:
This saw cut through red oak 2 1/2 inches thick and 9 inches wide literally like butter, leaving a cut so smooth I was shocked (it was superior to my contractors saw with a Forrest WWII blade). Thus, the saw is more than adequately powered and has an excellent blade. Consider that if you balk at the price tag - you do not need to go out and replace the blade. Also, because the saw has adjustable kerf inserts, tearout is minimal (usually none at all). The kerf inserts are well designed and will not damage the saw if you cut one at an extreme bevel angle. Though not as good as a shop made zero clearance insert, it is effective enough that I am not going to spend time making one. The bottom line - perfect cuts that you make you smile as you run your fingers over the end grain.
Construction and Use:
Slider and Hold down: The slider action is extremely smooth. You can get through boards almost 13 inches in width effortlessly. The saw is extremely safe while doing this due to the excellent (and sturdy) blade guard and the very effective hold down clamp. The fence and hold down are sturdy enough that you need not touch the piece or have hands anywhere near the blade.
Adjustments: All controls are way out front - you never have to reach behind the saw! All adjustments are easy to make and I found the saw to be pretty much dead accurate. I like the microadjust feature, which I have never seen before on a miter saw. However, I must admit that I'm just too used to "knocking" the saw into place for miter cuts to actually ever use the microadjust.
Fit & Finish: This saw is heavy for a reason - it is solid. There is no cheapness about this saw. Also, it looks good. In all honesty, it makes all other tools in my shop look bad.
Other tidbits include an easy to use depth stop for cutting grooves, pullout extension slides for the table, and a 3 way adjustable handle for comfort on all cuts. I just don't see how a miter saw can get any better than this. It is a joy to use and makes my shop play time even more fun. Beats the heck out of pushing a six foot piece of oak over my table saw blade at a 45 any day!

By Ed C. Upper Woodworks
This saw has some great features, but falls far short of the mark.
Out of the box I was impressed by the ease of use of the saw's controls. It looked complicated, but was actually rather intuitive. The front located tilt lever is the best thing ever in a slider saw. The mico-adjust feature was rather cumbersome to use. I found it far faster and easier to just move the turntable to the desired fraction of a degree and then lock the table. I install trim in high end houses for a living and trust me, NOTHING is ever square. The micro adjust feature could have been a good thing. The lock on this saw is flawless by the way. The best I have used requiring just a light twist and having no creep. The saw has plenty of power and a good slide range, cutting stock in excess of 12" at 90 degrees.
The features are great, but the overall performance is very lacking. When I went to check the saw for trueness I was suprised to find the fence was out of square by in excess of 3 degrees. No big deal I trued the fence and the saw cut great as long as I was at 90 degrees to the edge of the workpiece. This is where the problems started. I checked the tilt detents and they were spot on. The problem was that while cutting compound miters on wide stock the slide action did not seem to be in line with the blade. This caused severe binding and burning resulting in a "stepped" cut. Left tilted miters were much better than right tilted miters, but neither was acceptable. The binding/burning seemed to be a by product of two things.
1) The slide action was not in line with the blade for some reason while the saw was tilted.
2) There was a great deal of play (read;slop) in both the main arbor bearings and the main up and down pivot (knuckle) located directly behind the saw head. (The slide rod bearings had NO detectable play however)
The slop caused the blade to be able to hunt for a path of least resistence as it sliced through a cut. So the blade would wander causing a wavy cut.
This a great idea in a saw and has some great features, but it is not nearly up the standard it needs to be at. I used to do all the machine set ups and tuning for a large volume cabinet shop. Even with this experience and a Forrest blade installed I could not coax this saw to cut a straight line. I lost 6 billable hours over the course of 2 weeks trying to tune this saw. If you are a framer the front tilt feature alone would make this a great saw for you. For any finer work look elsewhere. I own a dozen or so other Bosch tools and they are all top notch and very durable, this saw misses the mark by a wide margin. I returned my saw to tool crib. Their customer service is second to none.

By A Customer
I just received my Bosch 4410 dual compound sliding miter saw from UPS today. I used the Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw to build a Decorator's Showhouse style home. All I can say is that the Bosch 4410 is far superior. It is smoother, quieter, prettier, easier to carry, and seems far more powerful. I am a carpenter who's work consists mainly of decks and rough work. I have also built furniture in the past and know that dead on accuracy and precision is a must in one's tools and this saw is right on the mark. When I opened the box, I nearly cried at beauty of this machine. The saw was dead on accurate right out of the box. The upfront controls are stout and simple to use, making the saw such a pleasure to work with. The saw is by far the finest tool I own. I own the complete line of Bosch 18v cordless tools, and some of their 24v tools all of which I have found to be the best cordless tools available after many hours of research and testing. I cannot say enough about this saw and no words could do it justice. My final words to anyone looking for a 10" sliding compound miter saw are; if you are worried about the few extra dollars you might spend on this saw, don't be. It is one of those things that is more than worth the extra bucks. You will not be dissappoined and will be blown away by the quality and beauty of this saw.
